California 9-Year-Old Makes Toiletry Kits for the Homeless

Khloe Thompson has more on her mind than the average 9-year-old.

One day, walking to school with her mom, she saw a homeless person and asked her mom what she could do for them.

Her solution? “Khloe Kares,” a charity she runs that makes and distributes “Kare Bags,” which are hand-sewn bags filled with various essential toiletries and distributed to homeless women.

Khloe’s grandmother helps her sew the bags – which contain toothpaste, deodorant, wipes, soap, hand sanitizers and the like – and then she and her mother distribute them.
