Collaboration is key to driving social impact in today’s complex and interconnected world. That’s why we were thrilled to listen to the latest episode of Think Ecosystem, a podcast series by EY that explores how different sectors can work together to solve global challenges.
The episode featured Kate Behncken, the Corporate Vice President and Global Lead of Microsoft Philanthropies, who shared how Microsoft is using its digital and AI capabilities to empower communities and drive inclusive growth. She also highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships across sectors, such as the one between Microsoft and EY, to leverage each other’s strengths and expertise.
One of the most interesting points of the discussion was how to measure social impact effectively. The panelists agreed that moving from output metrics (such as the number of beneficiaries or dollars donated) to outcome metrics (such as the improvement in quality of life or social return on investment) is crucial for understanding the real impact of interventions and making data-driven decisions.
We highly recommend listening to the episode if you are interested in learning more about how large corporations are driving social impact and the transformative power of technology in philanthropy. You can find the link to the podcast and the full transcript below.
