Anheuser-Busch, in collaboration with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), has delivered more than 49,000 cans of emergency drinking water to 21 volunteer fire departments across Mississippi. This initiative is part of the brewer’s longstanding commitment to supporting communities during natural disasters and emergencies.
For the sixth consecutive year, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have teamed up with the NVFC to provide critical hydration to volunteer firefighters, who often operate with limited budgets and resources. This year’s donation is part of a larger effort to distribute over 1.5 million cans of emergency drinking water to more than 630 volunteer fire departments across 44 states throughout the summer1.
Cesar Vargas, Chief External Affairs Officer at Anheuser-Busch, emphasized the importance of this partnership. “Our continued collaboration with the NVFC and volunteer firefighters across the country embodies the rich heritage of Anheuser-Busch and our commitment to supporting our communities when they need us most,” Vargas stated. “We are honored to leverage our production, packaging, and logistics capabilities to assist the firefighters who lead with courage to protect us every time they’re called upon”1.
In Mississippi, the donations were made to various volunteer fire departments, including Southwest Covington, Powers, New Zion, Hopewell, Reformation, and Sylvarena. Chief Bryan Walters of Sylvarena Volunteer Fire Department expressed his gratitude, noting that volunteers had been purchasing water out of their own pockets to stay hydrated while fighting wildfires in the intense Mississippi heat1.
Theo Costas, EAM at Southern Beverage Co-Ridgeland, also highlighted the significance of this initiative. “Working alongside Anheuser-Busch to deliver emergency drinking water to volunteer firefighters is an honor,” Costas said. “Their dedication is remarkable, and we’re thankful to contribute to their preparedness for times when disaster strikes”1.
Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to disaster preparedness and community support is evident in its ongoing efforts to provide essential resources to first responders. This initiative not only helps volunteer fire departments save on critical supplies but also ensures they are better equipped to handle emergencies and protect their communities.
