Tractor Supply Announces Second Class of FFA Future Leaders Scholarship Recipients

Tractor Supply Company, the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, has proudly announced the second class of FFA Future Leaders Scholarship recipients. This year, 143 students from 35 states have been awarded a total of $1 million in scholarships, continuing the company’s commitment to supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders.

The Tractor Supply Foundation, in partnership with the National FFA Organization, established this scholarship program in 2022 with a $5 million commitment over five years. This initiative aims to support students pursuing careers in agriculture and related trades, reflecting the growing demand for skilled professionals in these fields.

Marti Skold-Jordan, manager of the Tractor Supply Foundation and National FFA Foundation Sponsors’ Board member, expressed her admiration for the scholarship recipients: “Our second class of FFA Future Leaders scholars continues to impress, both through their academic achievements and their passion and commitment to Life Out Here. This group demonstrates a remarkable range of pursuits, from bioengineering and agricultural education to horticulture and agricultural mechanics, reflecting their desire to define their futures on their own terms.”

The scholarship recipients include students attending both trade schools and four-year colleges. Among the 89 students awarded $5,000 scholarships for trade schools or two-year colleges, many are pursuing majors in high-demand fields such as welding and agricultural mechanics. For example, Annalisa Gonzalez from Spring Valley, California, is attending Cuyamaca Community College to study agricultural law, and Madison MacLeod from Mendon, Massachusetts, is pursuing a certificate in agricultural mechanics.

Additionally, 54 students received $10,000 scholarships to pursue four-year degrees in agriculture-related majors. Notable recipients include Devon Hulsey from Temple, Texas, who is studying agricultural business and economics at Texas A&M University, and Macie McPeak from Ripon, California, who is studying plant and soil science at Oklahoma State University.

The FFA Future Leaders Scholarship program highlights the increasing popularity of careers in the skilled trades and agriculture, areas that are essential for the sustainability and growth of rural communities. Tractor Supply’s investment in these students not only supports their educational goals but also strengthens the future of agriculture in America.
