As the new school year begins, the Kids In Need Foundation (KINF) is making a significant impact by equipping over 2.5 million students with essential school supplies. This initiative is part of KINF’s ongoing mission to promote equity in education and ensure that every child has the tools they need to succeed, regardless of their socio-economic background.
KINF’s efforts are particularly crucial this year, as many families continue to face financial hardships. By providing backpacks filled with school supplies, KINF is helping to alleviate some of the burdens on parents and guardians, allowing students to start the school year with confidence and readiness.
“We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive,” said Corey Gordon, CEO of Kids In Need Foundation. “By equipping students with the necessary supplies, we are not only supporting their academic success but also fostering a sense of belonging and self-worth.”
The foundation’s work is made possible through the generous support of corporate partners, individual donors, and volunteers. This year, KINF has partnered with several major companies, including Dollar General, Joann Stores, and Dixon Ticonderoga, to distribute supplies to schools and students in need.
In addition to providing school supplies, KINF also offers programs and resources aimed at supporting teachers and enhancing the educational experience for all students. Their Teacher Resource Centers, located across the country, offer free supplies and materials to educators, helping to create more equitable learning environments.
“Teachers are often the unsung heroes in our communities,” Gordon added. “By supporting them with the resources they need, we are investing in the future of our children and our society.”
KINF’s commitment to educational equity extends beyond the classroom. The foundation also advocates for policies and practices that address systemic inequalities in education, working to create a more just and inclusive system for all students.
As the back-to-school season kicks off, KINF’s efforts serve as a reminder of the power of community and the importance of investing in the next generation. For more information on how to support the Kids In Need Foundation and their mission, visit Kids In Need Foundation.
