The Daniels Fund and Project Play Colorado, in collaboration with youth sports nonprofits across the state, have successfully raised over $3.7 million during the inaugural Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day campaign. This impressive fundraising effort aims to increase youth participation in sports by providing essential funding to various youth sports organizations.
Throughout September, individuals, businesses, and community groups across Colorado generously contributed more than $2.1 million through nearly 3,700 donations2. These contributions were further boosted by over $1.6 million in matching funds from the Daniels Fund, Alpine Bank, The Anschutz Foundation, Colorado Health Foundation, Denver Broncos Foundation, and El Pomar Foundation3.
The campaign highlights the importance of sports in fostering physical health, teamwork, and personal development among young people. By supporting youth sports, the initiative aims to ensure that more children have the opportunity to engage in sports activities, regardless of their financial background.
The success of Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day demonstrates the strong community support for youth sports and the commitment of various organizations to make sports accessible to all children. The funds raised will be distributed to youth sports nonprofits across the state, helping to sustain and expand their programs.
