Kitchell Marks 75 Years of Community Impact with Founder’s Day Campaign

PHOENIX — Kitchell, a leading construction and real estate development firm, is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a month-long Founder’s Day campaign focused on community service across four states.

Launched on Sept. 11, the National Day of Service, the initiative honors the legacy of founder Sam Kitchell through 36 volunteer events organized by nearly 400 employees. The campaign spans six areas of impact: health and wellness, hunger relief, housing and shelter, animal welfare, education and youth development, and environmental stewardship.

“Sam Kitchell believed that building strong communities was just as important as building great projects,” said Wendy Cohen, Kitchell’s president and CEO. “Seventy-five years later, his belief still drives how we show up, serve and do business.”

Employees have assembled care bags for nurses in Arizona, supported shelters in Texas, contributed to hunger relief efforts in California, and participated in environmental cleanups in New York. The Kitchell Foundation is also launching a month-long giving campaign to further support underserved populations.

“Our annual Founder’s Day program reflects the values that have guided our company since 1950,” Cohen said. “It’s about engaging employees in meaningful service to strengthen communities and ensure Sam’s legacy of giving back continues for generations to come.”

Senior Marketing and Community Engagement Specialist Dosayra Brumley added, “Every Founder’s Day, I’m inspired by the impact we create when we come together. We’ve served meals at women’s shelters, assembled care packages for hospital patients, and shared stories over coffee.”

Kitchell’s Founder’s Day campaign underscores the company’s commitment to purpose-driven work and its enduring role in shaping communities through both construction and compassion.
