ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — Fifteen leading Central Florida business executives traded their boardrooms for a construction site to address the region’s affordable housing crisis by joining Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka’s Executive Build 2025.
The flagship fundraising and construction event was held on Monday, Oct. 6, to coincide with World Habitat Day. It brought together CEOs and business leaders to help build an affordable home for a local family and raise awareness about the critical need for accessible housing.
“Executive Build represents the very best of our business community coming together to tackle one of Central Florida’s most pressing challenges,” said Jay Zembower, Executive Build Chairman and Chairman of the Seminole County Board of Commissioner1s.
The participating executives, representing organizations including AdventHealth Apopka, Orlando Health, Waste Pro, and Orlando Credit Union, spent the morning installing siding on a new Habitat home after meeting the future homeowner, Carrie, a director at a local day care center.
Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka CEO Penny Seater noted that seeing the region’s top leaders working on the site “sends a clear message that affordable homeownership is not just a dream, but an achievable goal when we come together as a community.”
The event serves as both a fundraising initiative and a call to action for the business community to engage in addressing the issue of affordable housing, which continues to impact working families across Central Florida.
