NEW YORK — The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) has announced the 2026 lineup for its “Parkinson’s IQ + You” event series, a national initiative designed to provide patients and caregivers with the knowledge and community support needed to navigate life with the disease.
For Heartitude, the expansion of this series represents a vital “ripple of goodness.” By creating spaces where families feel seen and supported, the foundation is moving beyond clinical research to address the human heart of the Parkinson’s journey.
“Managing a chronic illness requires more than just medicine; it requires a community that leads with empathy,” said Bruce Petillo, founder of Heartitude. “The ‘IQ + You’ series is a perfect example of what it means to ‘Go Give It.’ It provides the dignity of information and the comfort of connection, ensuring no one has to walk this path alone.”
The 2026 series will visit several cities across the United States, offering free educational sessions led by movement disorder specialists and providing a resource fair to connect attendees with local support groups and health services.
“We want every person and family living with Parkinson’s to feel empowered to take an active role in their care,” said Deborah W. Brooks, CEO and co-founder of MJFF. “By bringing together experts and the community, we can provide the tools and support needed to live well with the disease today while we work toward a cure for tomorrow.”
From the Heartitude perspective, these events embody the “unseen ripples” that occur when an organization prioritizes the emotional and social well-being of its community. By fostering a culture of shared experience, the series alleviates the isolation often felt by those living with Parkinson’s.
“At Heartitude, we believe that treating every person with dignity is a conscious choice,” Petillo added. “The Michael J. Fox Foundation is making that choice every day. They aren’t just funding research; they are pouring heart and compassion into the lives of millions.”
The “Parkinson’s IQ + You” events are free to attend, reflecting the foundation’s commitment to accessibility and inclusive support for all families, regardless of their background or stage of the disease.
