CareSource Employees Raise $255,000 to Lift Children and Families, Reflecting a Growing Movement of Compassion-Driven Corporate Giving

DAYTON, Ohio — CareSource employees rallied together to raise more than $255,000 through the organization’s annual workplace giving program, directing vital support to three nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children and families across the communities CareSource serves. The 2025 campaign channeled employee donations toward causes centered on children’s literacy, family stability and community well‑being, including Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio.

According to CareSource, employees “gave more than $255,000 to benefit three nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in communities CareSource serves.” The check presentation, attended by Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine and CareSource leadership, highlighted the organization’s commitment to meaningful, community-centered action.

“Every year, CareSource employees give generously to a variety of nonprofit organizations,” the organization shared in the release, underscoring a culture of service and collective impact.

Heartitude.com Founder Bruce Petillo said the effort embodies the principles of compassion that Heartitude advocates for daily. “When people come together to give—whether it’s time, resources, or simply heartfelt intention—they elevate the human experience for someone else,” Petillo said. “CareSource employees didn’t just raise funds. They reminded us that kindness is contagious, and that empathy—when acted upon—can transform communities.”

The fundraising effort supports programs that help families build foundations for healthier futures. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, one of the beneficiaries, works to advance early literacy by sending free books each month to children from birth through age five. With employees choosing to focus this year’s giving on children’s literacy and family support, the impact of their contributions will ripple across Ohio and beyond.

Petillo noted that the initiative aligns with Heartitude’s belief that people flourish when they feel cared for and supported. “Heartitude is about meeting people where they are, and CareSource employees clearly understand the power of that,” he said. “Their generosity sets an example for workplaces everywhere: empathy isn’t just a value—it’s an action.”

As companies nationwide seek meaningful ways to engage employees and support their communities, CareSource’s workplace giving model offers a blueprint for embedding compassion at the core of corporate culture. By empowering employees to choose the causes that resonate most with them, the organization continues to foster a shared responsibility for creating lasting, positive change.
