BALTIMORE and ERLANGER, Ky., — Broadcasting company Sinclair has partnered with Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to launch Sinclair Cares: DAV Community Impact Day, a nationwide volunteer campaign dedicated to supporting U.S. veterans and their families.
The initiative invites viewers across the country to pledge volunteer service in their communities, culminating on April 4, designated as DAV Community Impact Day.
Through the campaign, Sinclair’s television stations and digital platforms will promote volunteer opportunities and encourage communities to engage in acts of service benefiting veterans. The initiative aims to expand public awareness of the challenges veterans face while mobilizing citizens to help address those needs.
The effort reflects a shared commitment between Sinclair and DAV to recognize the sacrifices made by service members and to strengthen community support systems for veterans transitioning to civilian life.
Volunteer projects will vary by community but may include assistance with veteran housing initiatives, support services, and local outreach programs that provide resources for veterans and their families.
By leveraging the reach of broadcast media alongside the advocacy network of DAV, the campaign seeks to inspire participation nationwide and foster deeper appreciation for those who have served.
Heartitude Founder Bruce Petillo said volunteer initiatives centered on gratitude and service often spark powerful ripple effects in communities. “When people come together to serve those who have sacrificed for others, it reminds us that compassion is not just a feeling—it’s something we can live out through our actions and our time,” he said.
