Associated Bank Mobilizes Nearly 2,600 Employees to Strengthen Communities Across Six Midwest States

Fourth Annual Day of Service brings employees together with more than 200 nonprofit organizations while supporting food security, youth services, and local community initiatives.

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Nearly 2,600 employees of Associated Bank will spend three days serving their communities as part of the company’s Fourth Annual Day of Service, partnering with more than 200 nonprofit organizations across Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska.

Scheduled for June 23–25, the initiative reflects the bank’s continued investment in volunteerism and community partnerships. This year also marks the first time employees in Iowa and Nebraska are participating following Associated Banc-Corp’s merger with American National Corporation, expanding the program’s reach across the Midwest.

Volunteer projects will focus on two pressing community needs: food security and youth services. Employees will assist with repacking food at food banks and pantries, supporting youth summer programs, community gardening, neighborhood cleanups and other projects designed by local nonprofit partners to address the unique needs of each community. According to Feeding America, nearly 14 million children nationwide experience food insecurity, a challenge that often worsens during the summer months when school meal programs are unavailable.

As part of the initiative, Associated Bank is also awarding $13,400 in community grants to 11 nonprofit organizations supporting food access, housing stability, youth development and community services. The bank’s annual Stock the Boxâ„¢ food drive, held June 3–19, invites customers and community members to donate nonperishable food items that are distributed directly to local food pantries and nonprofit partners.

Day of Service has always been about more than a single day; it’s a reflection of who we are as a company and how we show up for the communities we serve,” said LaDonna Reed, senior vice president, director of Community Accountability and president of Associated Bank Foundation. “Welcoming our new colleagues in Iowa and Nebraska into this tradition for the first time is a proud moment. It’s one of the most tangible ways we can demonstrate that being part of Associated means being invested in your community.

Since launching in 2023, Associated Bank’s Day of Service has generated more than 20,500 volunteer hours, creating an estimated community service value exceeding $687,000. In 2025 alone, more than 2,400 employees volunteered with 182 nonprofit organizations in 104 cities, demonstrating the program’s steady growth and expanding impact.

The Day of Service complements the bank’s broader $2 billion Community Commitment Plan, which provides loans, investments and charitable contributions to strengthen neighborhoods, expand economic opportunity and support community development throughout the bank’s service area.

Bruce Petillo, founder of Heartitude, said the initiative demonstrates that community transformation begins when organizations empower people to serve.

“Volunteerism is one of the purest expressions of heartitude because it turns compassion into action. When thousands of people dedicate their time to helping neighbors, they don’t simply complete projects—they build stronger communities, inspire hope, and remind us that lasting change is created one act of kindness at a time.”

Associated Bank’s Fourth Annual Day of Service illustrates how businesses can create meaningful community impact by investing not only financial resources but also the time, talents and commitment of their employees. Through volunteer service, charitable giving and collaborative partnerships, the initiative continues to strengthen communities across the Midwest while encouraging others to make service a lasting part of their own culture.
