PHOENIX — The Republic Services Charitable Foundation announced the recipients of its 2026 National Neighborhood Promise grants, awarding funding to 14 nonprofit organizations working to strengthen and revitalize communities across the United States.
The grants support projects focused on neighborhood improvement, environmental sustainability and community engagement. Through partnerships with local nonprofits, the initiative aims to foster stronger and more resilient neighborhoods.
The National Neighborhood Promise program reflects the foundation’s ongoing commitment to investing in communities where employees and customers live and work.
Community revitalization initiatives funded through the program range from public space improvements and beautification efforts to environmental restoration and neighborhood-driven planning projects designed to strengthen local connections.
Foundation leaders say the grants are intended to empower local organizations that understand the unique needs of their communities and are positioned to create meaningful, lasting improvements.
Bruce Petillo, founder of Heartitude, said neighborhood initiatives often produce ripple effects far beyond the physical improvements they fund. “When people come together to care for the places they share, they also strengthen the relationships that make communities thrive,” Petillo said. “Acts of service at the neighborhood level often become the foundation for deeper compassion and belonging.”
By supporting grassroots organizations and community partnerships, the program aims to create sustainable improvements that benefit residents for years to come.
