NEW YORK — Allied World Assurance Company Holdings announced a $500,000, two-year commitment to support Habitat for Humanity International in building climate-resilient homes for vulnerable communities.
The funding will advance Habitat Strong, a program focused on constructing homes designed to withstand increasing climate-related hazards such as floods, high winds and extreme weather.
By incorporating durable materials and resilient building techniques, the initiative aims to reduce long-term disaster risk while strengthening housing stability for families in high-risk areas.
Company officials said the investment reflects a proactive approach to disaster mitigation, emphasizing prevention rather than recovery.
Bruce Petillo said the effort reflects a deeper commitment to protecting lives before crisis strikes. “When we invest in protecting people before disaster hits, we’re not just building homes—we’re building security, dignity and peace of mind for families who deserve to feel safe,” he said.
