FOX Sports and Fox Corporation Launch Community Impact Initiative Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026™

LOS ANGELES — As anticipation builds for the largest FIFA World Cup in history, FOX Sports and Fox Corporation are investing in a legacy that extends beyond the tournament itself.

The company announced a $500,000 commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) as part of a broader community impact platform designed to expand youth access to soccer, strengthen coaching development, and create workforce readiness opportunities for teenagers across the United States. The initiative is being launched in advance of FIFA World Cup 2026™, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

According to the announcement, the investment will support youth soccer programming at Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide and is expected to engage more than 26,000 young people. The initiative will also help train coaches and create opportunities for Club teens to serve as soccer referees, providing both leadership experience and pathways to employment.

The effort is part of a multi-year collaboration involving Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the nonprofit organization Common Goal. The partners aim to leverage soccer as a vehicle for community connection, youth development, and long-term opportunity in communities throughout the country.

Funding will also support Soccer Forward Fests, community-centered events designed to bring youth, families, coaches, and local organizations together through the sport. The festivals are intended to create welcoming spaces where young people can build confidence, develop skills, and experience the positive impact of teamwork and mentorship.

The announcement reflects a growing trend among major corporations and sports organizations to use large-scale global events as catalysts for local community investment. While FIFA World Cup 2026 is expected to draw millions of viewers and visitors, FOX Sports said it also sees an opportunity to create lasting benefits for young people long after the final match is played.

Bruce Petillo, founder of Heartitude, said initiatives that connect opportunity with community can create a meaningful ripple effect.

“When organizations use their platform to open doors for young people, the impact reaches far beyond a single event. Programs that combine mentorship, workforce readiness, and access to positive experiences help build stronger communities and brighter futures.”

The FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament will feature an expanded field of 48 teams and is expected to be one of the most-watched sporting events in history. Through this initiative, FOX Sports and its partners are working to ensure that some of the tournament’s most important victories occur off the field.
